Our Mission

We are a co-ed Christian school, however we accept learners from any Religion and Race. We will offer an education at an affordable rate without compromising on quality. This entails keeping the number of learners in each class to an average of 25 learners and appointing qualified educators of the highest calibre.

In so doing we strive to satisfy the 3 key players in the school namely, the learners, the parents and the educators so that they are able to exist in an environment of excellence. We aim to ensure that each learner is encouraged to perform to their fullest potential within a disciplined, nurturing environment.

One of our purposes is to evangelise, in that we will endeavour to spread the message of Christian salvation to all learners and their families.Because our aim is to make a positive difference in every learner’s life, each learner should experience a disciplined and nurturing environment in which he/she feels secure.

With regard to academic excellence, our aim is to achieve a success rate of a 100% pass rate with a 95% acceptance level for Tertiary education for the Grade 12 learners.  The education offered will be based upon the Education Department’s criteria ultimately resulting in a Grade 12 certificate.

Our History

In 1997, Mrs Sharon Austen, a teacher with more than twenty-five years of experience, realised the desperate need for affordable, but quality private school education. She was teaching at a local primary school and resigned from her position to follow her dream of establishing a school which she named Athena Preparatory. During that first year, there were 18 students enrolled in Grade R to Grade 3.

The demand continued to grow for the excellent services the school provided. Mrs Austen focused on instilling strong moral values and delivering academics of the highest standard. We became known as a school which enabled its students to reach their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.

As applications for enrolment  started to increase in volume, Mrs Austen employed colleagues who she knew to be top practitioners with many years of experience in education. Mr Glenn Austen, her devoted husband, became the full-time financial officer for the school in 1999.

In 2000, Mrs Austen decided to grow Athena Preparatory into a high school. With the extended registration with the Gauteng Department of Education, Victory House Private School was established. This new name was more representative of the exciting new institute which now included a high school section, and not just a primary school.

A piece of land on Golf Club Terrace was purchased in 2002. Currently, Victory House Private School has
approximately 700 students enrolled from Grade 0 to 12, and boasts numerous awards and accolades it has won over the years.

Life at School

Our student culture plays a key role in our School experience. We’ve created a safe and accessible environment where students are encouraged to discuss ideas, collaborate on projects, share their work, and receive feedback from fellow students and teachers.

We give students the foundation to bring their potential to life.
